We are currently recruiting Venue Assistants to join our our Layered Reality™ team at The War of The Worlds: The Immersive Experience (www.thewaroftheworldsimmersive.com). This is a layered reality multi-sensory experience set across a vast 22,000 sq/ft, combining music, immersive theatre, virtual reality, motion simulators and 5D effects.

Position Summary

The Venue Assistants ensure that we deliver this cutting-edge experience at the optimal level to all guests. On a daily basis, the Venue Assistants will work across a number of departments including the Show, Box Office, Bar & Restaurant and inside the Theatre to ensure that our customer service is executed at the highest level. Some of the Venue Assistant positions are performed in character, ensuring that our guests are completely immersed in the world that is created from the moment they step foot through the door.

Scope & Responsibilities 

You will be responsible for performing a variety of roles, whilst ensuring that service is smooth, efficient and memorable. Responsibilities include; setting-up the show, meeting and greeting guests, checking tickets, helping guests with VR equipment, assisting production, waiting tables, preparing drinks, selling merchandise/photos and general administration.

Background & Experience

This role would suit anyone looking to take their first steps into theatre or events. You will be a self-motivated individual, with a can-do attitude and a passion for delivering great customer service. Previous experience in customer service, retail, theatre, leisure, events or visitor attractions is preferable.

  • Good presentation skills.
  • Ability to remain calm under pressure.
  • Confident both working as part of a team and independently. 
  • Flexible (Wednesday to Sunday afternoon & evenings).
  • Conversational English

Job Title: Venue Assistant

Responsible to: FOH Manager

Job Type: Fixed Term (25hrs per week)

Probation: 3 Months

Pay: £9 p/h + Service Charge

Location: Aldgate, London, EC3A 2BJ
